The Great Bay Regional Volunteer EMS Department (GBEMS) is committed to protecting the lives of Little Egg Harbor, Bass River, and Eagleswood residents and visitors by providing the best possible emergency and medical response services. We pledge to perform our duty with courage and dedication and strive to be active in our communities with public education and prevention.
Who We Are
GBEMS has been serving the community since 1999. Our approximately 55 active members are all volunteers - we are your neighbors, friends, and co-workers; men and women; married and single. We go to school or have full-time day jobs in a wide range of occupations, but spend our available time making sure our communities have the best medical support possible. We all share one professional goal - to be there when you need us.
What We Do
Whether it’s a medical emergency, a car accident or a house fire, GBEMS answers your calls for help. Through continuous education and training, we’re prepared when you need us with Basic Life Support, answering an average of 3000 calls for help per year. We also host several community activities - open houses, CPR classes - as well as numerous fundraising events, and actively participate in and provide stand-by services at various community events such as races, parades, fairs, concerts and fireworks displays.
Discover the Volunteer in You!
GBEMS would be an empty building without the tireless support of our volunteers. We are always looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), drivers and administrative members. No prior rescue experience is necessary! Training is provided for free through generous donations made to us by the community.
We're always looking for new members, so enjoy our site and if you decide you might like to join us and help out your community please contact us!
